I wanted to update you on Jay’s condition. The last time I posted we had been released to go home, but unfortunately that was short-lived. We have been in the hospital since December 27th. The new cardiologists were wonderful and did all they could for Jay at Seton Kyle but ultimately determined that given Jay’s advanced heart failure, he should be moved to specialty care at Seton Main. So on the cover of the night, we moved quietly on December 30th.
We met with the specialist and they gave us the devastating news that Jay would require a transplant. We were stunned, to say the least, and slowly let the information marinate and let immediate family and friends know once we had absorbed the information ourselves. We began the process of transplant evaluation two weeks ago and received amazing news today. Jay will be listed on the transplant list! He is considered an ideal candidate for the transplant so that is amazing! Through it all we have taken turns lifting each other up because this place can be scary and lonely. I can’t tell you enough what a blessing he has been to me and I to him. We are in this battle together and we will recover together. We are grateful to all the family and friends who have been tending to the house and us, our doggie. All of it is so amazing and we are so grateful for our village.
