Mr. Rauschuber is a graduate of Winston Churchill High School directed by Ferd Vollmar, where he was a member of the TMEA All-State Bands and Orchestra.  He attended the University of North Texas where he played Wind Symphony directed by Eugene Migliaro Corporon and the Symphony Orchestra directed by Anshel Brusilov.

Before coming to Hays High School Mr. Rauschuber was the Director of Bands at Fredericksburg HS for 11 years and Director of Fine Arts for 4 years.  Mr. Rauschuber’s responsibilities included overseeing the entire band program, grade 6-12 while directing the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and assisting classes at Fredericksburg Middle School.  Under the direction of Mr. Rauschuber, the Fredericksburg Bands were participants at the UIL State Marching Contest 5 times (finalists in ’10, ’14, ’16 and Silver Medalists in ’12).  

His bands have consistently placed at the TMEA State Honor Band Contest.  The FHS Wind Ensemble was the 2013 TMEA 3A State Honor Band Winner, was 2nd runner-up in 2017 and 3rd Runner-Up in 2011.  In 2012 and 2013, the band was selected as a National Winner in the Mark of Excellence, National Wind Band Project.

Before coming to Fredericksburg, Mr. Rauschuber was the Assistant Director of Bands in George West ISD and Director of Bands in Marion ISD.  While in Marion, his bands marched in the UIL Texas State Marching Contest as well as earning multiple Sweepstakes Awards.  His Marion High School Bands were selected as State Finalists in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series several times as well as State Finalist in the TMEA Honor Band Contest.

Mr. Rauschuber served as the President-Elect of ATSSB (Association of Texas Small School Bands), ATSSB Region 29 Region Coordinator, Class 4A State Representative and All-State Sectional Coordinator.

Mr. Rauschuber is an active adjudicator and clinician throughout Texas.  He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA), Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB), Texas Music Adjudicators Association (TMAA), and Texas Music Administrators Conference (TMAC). 

Mr. Rauschuber and his wife Dani, Director of Bands at Barton MS, are excited to join the Hays Band Family along with their dog Jinnger and cat Pebbles.
