WELCOME TO THE HAYS HAWK BAND
The Jack C. Hays High School Marching Band is one of the largest and most active spirit and competition groups on campus. The Marching Band attends football games and pep rallies in addition to the annual slate of Texas UIL, Bands of America, and independent marching competitions across the state of Texas. Since it's inception, the Hays Band has been a contender for the State title at the 4A level achieving many great years of UIL success. In the fall of 2018, the Hays Band made program history by making area finals at the 6A level, serving as the state alternate. Additionally in 2020, the Hays Band continued its historical trek as they competed in the 6A State Marching Contest for the first time in school history. Our families have come to trust and rely on our program to foster a love of music within our band members, but more importantly to prepare our band members for their post grade school endeavors by developing the character of our young performers. Band members at Hays learn the value of teamwork, the importance of commitment and dedication, the benefits of setting goals and creating systems to achieve them, coping skills to handle both successes and failures, and of course...how to work hard. The benefits of membership allow band members to grow as individuals while participating in an activity that they love. It is a win-win combination, and while undoubtedly you may have questions about time commitment, academics, cost, and other like concerns, we hope to answer these questions through open communication in the coming months. |
