WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
Welcome to the first step to becoming a member of the award winning Hays High School Band! We are excited that you are considering membership in our program, and look forward to the opportunity of working with you over the coming years as you look at joining one of the most exciting, innovative and successful programs on the Hays High School campus. As a member of the Hays Band, you will enjoy fantastic performance experiences throughout your time in our program.
Our families have come to trust and rely on our program to foster a love of music within our band members, but more importantly to prepare our band members for their post grade school endeavors by developing the character of our young performers. Band members at Hays learn the value of teamwork, the importance of commitment and dedication, the benefits of setting goals and creating systems to achieve them, coping skills to handle both successes and failures, and of course...how to work hard.
The benefits of membership allow band members to grow as individuals while participating in an activity that they love. It is a win-win combination, and while undoubtedly you may have questions about time commitment, academics, cost, and other like concerns, we hope to answer these questions through open communication in the coming months. Please see the steps below to start your membership!

Registration closes May 6th, 2022. This information is crucial in securing numbers for the fall production as well as being able to order sufficient supplies for our members.
Step 2: Complete your first Band Fee payment via Revtrak. First payment due by May 6th, 2022. The fee will be used to cover upfront expenses for the members of the Hays Band and will provide Director's with numbers for our 2022 marching production. Those who do not pay this deposit by the deadline run the risk of their role in the Hays Band program. ALL band and guard fees must be paid in FULL by the band/guard check-in day of July 16th, 2022.
Step 3: Complete yearly physical NO LATER than July 16th. No student will be permitted to start band without a physical. This physical will need to be brought with the student to the official band check-in date on Saturday, July 16th, 2022. Physicals are now valid for two years. If you received a physical last school year (2021-2022) you will not need to receive an updated physical this year. If you are a returning HHS band member who received a physical last year, we will still have your physical on file. If you are a new member to the HHS Band Program and did receive a physical during the 2021-2022 school year, you will need to turn in a physical copy of the health physical form on the band check-in day, July 16th.
