ALI MARTINEZ
Director of Color Guard Ali Martinez is a graduate of New Braunfels High School and has been involved in the Color Guard activity for 20 years. She has had the privilege of teaching award winning and champion programs at the State and National levels. She has choreographed for and directed multiple programs who have made appearances in UIL State Marching Contest as participants and finalists. Her Winter Guards have earned finalist and medalist distinctions in both TCGC and WGI. Ali was named Texas Color Guard Circuit Director of the Year in 2017. Ali graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas State University – San Marcos with a degree in Dance/Theatre and has taught and performed throughout the US as well as in Canada and Germany. She is very proud to have the privilege of having seen several of her former students also graduate from the Dance Division at Texas State University. Ali served as the Color Guard Director at Texas State University from 2008-2013. She is a founding staff member of Identity Independent Winter Guard, serving as movement supervisor and choreographer for multiple WGI World Championships Finalist productions, including the 2013 Independent Open Class Gold Medal. Ali’s passion is teaching and she believes in cultivating the whole performer -mind and body - to help uncover who they are meant to be. This activity that blends art and sport empowers young women and men and gives them a unique opportunity to express themselves and to find inner strength that comes from hard work, self-reliance, and a team that has your back. |
