KYLE PRIDGEN
Assistant Band Director Email: william.pridgen@hayscisd.net Graduated with a Bachelor’s of Music in Education from Kennesaw State University, Kyle Pridgen is a percussionist from Atlanta, GA. As a member of the percussion studio/ensemble, Mr. Pridgen studied under John Lawless and Justin Chesarek. In 2007 Mr. Pridgen was a member of the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps where he also placed 2nd in the Tenor I&E Competition. Before that Mr. Pridgen was also a member of the Odyssey Percussion Theater for three years and the Pariah Percussion Theater for two years. He has performed or appeared with: So Percussion, PASIC 2007 Tenor I&E Competition, the ACDA National Convention in 2013 and 2014, KSU Wind Ensemble, KSU Symphony Orchestra and the Georgia Tech Drumline. As an educator, Mr. Pridgen was the Director of Percussion at Brennan High School for three years. In 2017 the Brennan Percussion Ensemble Performed the Showcase Concert for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. He is also an Assistant Percussion Instructor with the Battalion Drum and Bugle Corps from Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Pridgen was also the Assistant Percussion Director of the Georgia State University Marching Band from 2011-2015. Through many years of experience, Mr. Pridgen has been fortunate to work with many teachers, including John Wesley Dankwa, Jeff Ausdemore, Bill Bachman, Evan Blackard, Doug Bush, Chad Gibson, Dave Cox, Lance Kindl, Drew Simpson and John LaMattina. Mr. Pridgen is an active member of TMEA, TBA, PAS and is excited to join the team at Hays High School. |
