Michael Haynes is a low brass educator and musician based in Austin, Texas. He began his teaching career by offering private low brass lessons for six years before serving as a middle school band director for the past eight years in Hays CISD and is excited to be teaching private low brass lessons again.

A native of Austin, Michael studied at the University of Texas at Austin, where graduated with a Tuba Performance degree in 2011, while at UT he performed in the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, a Brass Quintet, and Tuba Euphonium Ensemble.

When he's not teaching or playing music, Michael enjoys spending time at home with his wife and their dog, Ben. He also loves making pizzas from scratch, exploring hiking trails, and tending to his aquarium.
