Caelan Matthews is a certified Texas music educator with experience teaching beginner through advanced middle school and high school band students. Mr. Matthews is passionate about helping young musicians build confidence, develop strong fundamentals and find genuine joy in making music.

In addition to his teaching background, Mr. Matthews has had the privilege of performing at some of the highest levels of the musical world. Mr. Matthews marched with The Cavaliers and the Boston Crusaders in Drum Corps International, earning a silver medal at the 2022 World Championships. Mr. Matthews also performed in the University of Texas Wind Ensemble, one of the nation’s premier collegiate wind bands. In addition to this, he has played in several local ensembles, including the Austin Brass Collective and San Antonio Brass Band.

​These experiences helped shaped Mr. Matthews approach to teaching – emphasizing excellence, musicality, and structured but supportive practice habits.
After years of teaching in public schools, Mr. Matthews has shifted his focus to private lessons so he can work more closely with individual students to help them reach their fullest musical potential. Mr. Matthews teaching style is patient and encouraging. He works to meet students where they are in their journey as musicians and give them the tools to grow consistently and confidently.
