Final Band Note for the Fall Semester:

First let me thank our great team leaders who organized the Silent Auction and tamale/ coke sales.  Both Michelle McComb and Michelle Pettit did a fabulous job.  These were both huge tasks.  We made approximately $2700 on the silent Auction. Possibly more we are waiting on final checks to come in.   Sold over 1600 tamales and 167 cases of sodas to make money for travel accounts.

I want to congratulate our High school District and Region Band winners.

This has been a busy fall and if I recounted all the things the band boosters accomplished it would take several pages but here are a few highlights:

Started the Scrip program to raise travel money for student accounts, started Dining for $$ program, updated Randalls card program, Spirit item sales,  Tamales/cokes,  Silent Auction,  Band O rama BBQ dinner, fed our high school band students every Friday and competitions during the fall season, We also cheered them on at spirit send offs and in the stands.  Our fabulous Pit crew helped with set up before every band competition and football game.  We supplied water for the students in the stands, We also hosted the end of summer band picnic. There are lots of other things that get done behind the scenes to make all of these events happen.  Thanks to our amazing treasurer Nancy Herrington- she is involved in all of these things. She keeps our books balanced and our taxes organized.  There are literally 1000’s of hours of work that have happened this fall.

This all took a great many volunteers and volunteer hours.   With over 800 students in the band program at Dahlstrom, Barton and Hays it can sometimes be a daunting task.  Thank you to all who have stepped in and worked even a few hours here and there and a special thank you to those of you who have worked 100’s of hours this fall.  It takes all of us to make a great Booster organization.  I want to encourage all of you to get involved in the Boosters.  We have a busy Spring as well with quite a few  new upcoming events. We need volunteers all the time for events.  Please feel free to join us.  Our next booster meeting is January 23rd in the band hall.  That will be the deadline for our next Scrip order.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!
